[SOLVED] Looking for some fast help with a fuel pump issue

Hey guys! Newbie (to the forum) here! Been lurking for a few weeks as I've been working on getting my bike back up and running after sitting for over 2 years. One of the items I had to replace was the fuel pump after the stock was was seized up. I purchased just the silver pump itself and took the whole unit apart to replace it. Got it all back together, started up like a champ a few times, and I even took it out for a ride and it ran great!

Now two days later, the bike wouldn't start. I could hear it priming but I suspected maybe it wasn't getting fuel properly so I lifted the tank and when I unplugged the gas line from the pump, fuel just came streaming out. I'm pretty sure that when the pump is off, no fuel should be coming out, correct?

Since fuel was just streaming out, I was able to drain most of the tank and I'm about to go siphon out the rest so I can take apart the fuel pump again. Is there anything I can look for or inspect to see why it's not working right?

No, I couldn't even get it to sound like it was turning over. I ended up taking the whole fuel pump assembly apart again and noticed something I didn't see before - an o-ring that was mis-placed. When I reassembled the first time, I didn't realize it was there, but still stuck up inside the white part of the fuel pump. When I disassembled this time, I happen to glance inside where this little nipple goes and saw it in there. Pulled it out, put some lubricant on it, put it back onto the nipple where it belonged and reassembled and everything is great again!
