Default Short throw throttle

Ok so the OEM throttle throw is waaaay to long but there is no way I was going to spend $180- on a Yoyodyne or other aftermarlet throttle and the zip tie method well, I wasn't going to use a zip tie so.

I purchased a few things and had thing or two. All in all, I spent $2-

I bought a 1 1/2" OD piece of PVC pipe from the hardware store $2- I had some 2 part plastic specific epoxy. I pulled the OEM throttle off the bike.

Next I measure the width of the throttle part where the cable sits and cut the PVC to match, it was 1/2" exactly

I then lined up this piece with the throttle tube and cut it just below where the cable attaches.

I then dremeled the edges to a taper on the ends and used the 2 part epoxy and epoxied the PVC to the throttle tube. Here is the end result

I got a noob question, HOW does it work? With that little piece of PVC you only have to rotate your wrist 1/4 turn to WOT? How does that work.

BTW your bike is awesome; GL at the track show'em what a Kawi can do!!

It works just like a sprocket on the rear wheel, as the throttle tube gets larger in diameter it requires less of a turn to pull the same amount of throttle cable over it.

Just think, if you had a 4" piece of string and you wanted to wrap it around a 1" diameter tube, you would turn the tube 4 full rotations

If the tube was 2" diameter you would only need to turn it 2 full rotations to wrap the same 4" string.

In this case I just wanted to shorten the throttle "throw" from 1/4 turn or 90 degrees which is stock to a shorter amount. I ended up shortening it to just above 1/5th a turn, in the end it now is about 75 degrees to full WOT.
