Just had my seat done by a guy in MD who specializes in this sort of thing. Everything he did was to the underside of the seat so the stock shape was retained. He shaved the bottom, customized it a bit to the shape of my ass, and put in some deep pleats at the front which allows it to easily be crushed together which gets my feet much closer to the ground when I'm at a stop. To finish it off he installed a double layer of 5/8" custom formulated gel. He also does full on custom seats in all sorts of crazy materials but I just had the comfort shaping / gel done.

All in all I'm very pleased with the work as my ass doesn't go to sleep anymore and I can much more easily reach the ground at a stop (5'10" and on my 07 ZX6R this was still a problem). Money well spent!

If you do a lot of commuting, it's worth it. Still way cheaper than a corbin which I hard is not much better than stock.

For the double layer gel insert I paid $200 (think it was $125 for a single layer) and I was in his shop a couple hours while he did the work and customized things a few times till I was happy with the results.

While I'd like to post pics I didn't take any while he was doing the work and everything he did was to the underside of the foam so the seat "looks" completely stock so really there's nothing to photograph ...

Price? Time and materials cost money and the comfort I now have for the 2 hours a day I spend in the saddle commuting (plus fun time) leaves me feeling very satisfied with the loss of my 200 dollars.

As for the ass handlin cracks (pun intended) .. That's funny stuff right there .. I don't care who you are!
