I read about this a while ago and now i can't find the post...
Anyway what has been said about this issue ? Sometimes when i go to the filling stations my fuel cap won't open for love or money! The only thing that usually works is one or two really hard wacks on top of the cap itself.
Is there any reason why this would be happening and any fixes? The key itself is 100% and even tried with spare keys. It's as if there is some kind of suction on the inside keeping it stuck...

Mine used to get stuck all the time, and when taking it apart to paint it I noticed that all the grease on the two tabs that stick out had dried up, and was making everything stick.
I hit it with some white lithium spray and now a few months later its still as smooth as when it was brand new.

Ive heard DONT used WD40. it will displace water but any dirt will stick in it.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT HAMMER YOUR KEY IN IT. especially if you are drunk and pissed off at your gf. You will have to replace the cap. It will cost roughly 170 bucks.
Most times it is corrosion inside. Spray in your lithium grease, Let sit. If you get it open then clean it out from the bottom side.
Yeah never use WD40...horrible lubricant. I used to work in a shop and we would use it as a cleaner because it was so harsh on metal. I use a little 4 oz grease from lieca on almost anything...
