Default Piston deck height

Anyone know what the factory deck height is for an 07 zx6r?

I need it to calculate my CR with different size head gaskets/shims.

It's been a while since I checked but if my memory serves me correct I believe it was .010 with the stock head gasket.

Thanks a bunch.

You ran your 07 NA, correct? I'm looking around at gaskets trying to see if I can make the engine more boost friendly without swapping to dished pistons. Only going to run ~8lbs.

Kawi only offers up to .070, just .005 over stock, but I could probably get a custom one made from Cometic or Gasket Works.

Yo... My memory went to crap. I went back to check my paper work and the Deck height was actually 1.01 mm. Sorry bout that and yes it used to be N/A.

Don't even worry bout getting custom gaskets. Use a stock gasket. Split them apart at the punches with a small flat head screw driver. should pop loose pretty easily. The kit gaskets are the same except for the center section. You should throw away the center section so you don't have to worry about it blowing out. Just use the steels with the coating. Each steel after being crush will measure out to be .25 mm. Stack them to get what you want. The dowl pins in the head will keep them stable even tho you stack a few extra.

Actually get the kit gasket not the stock because the kit gasket is cheaper.

Shit, thats exactly what I needed to hear! I never thought about making one out of the kit gaskets. Thanks a ton!

Like I said, I only need a small drop since I will only be running ~7lbs.

+reps for you .

Vex brought up a good point in another turbo build thread. If you try to drop CR with gaskets it leads to detonation. Look into dished pistons, it will drop the CR more than a gasket and is more reliable

I don't feel it is worth it to go dished pistons when I will only be running 6-7psi. People run that boost on stock 12.9:1 636s without issue. I don't need 9.5:1CR, .65 quench, and 200hp - just a bit less compression then the 13.3 CR the 07+ bikes come with. Its just a pet project to have fun with as I finish my car and need something else to do, nothing crazy.

Its not like I am going to be running huge quench as well - I doubt detonation will be an issue. Chamber efficiency and shape has a bigger effect on detonation then just quench anyway - Fords boosted 5.4L runs a huge .135 quench .
