I've had a good search but couldn`t find anything. Does anyone know how to remove the right side rear footpeg bracket? The left side is easy, but where are the two bolts for the bracket on the right side?
Remove the side piece that hides the seat bolt. Then you see a 14mm(I think) bolt that's part of the exhaust heat shield. Take that bolt out, it has a nut on the backside. Now push up on that heat shield/mid-pipe and you can access the rearsets bolts.
I'll try to remember to take pictures next time. I always have mine off and put them on every time my girlfriend wants to ride. So I've done it pretty often.
cheers man, it is a 12mm screw, but i haven`t done it yet. I`m bitchin it up with a stripped allen hex bolt for the small left side plastic fairing that covers the seat. I bought a frickin hammer drill and tried to drill it off, but I`m scared to go too far and make an even bigger hole in the panel. It`s pissin me off but I might just leave in now, all screwed up with a big hole, damn!!!
I know you already found it but here's a pic in case others are interested. Remove this bolt, there's a nut on the back side, and then push up on the mid pipe and heat shield by the rearsets.
thanks jdazzr, that is the one. I just need pliers for the other bolt to get it off, but that`s easy. I`ll do it at some point, just to get that cleaner look. It`s much better without the rear pegs/foot rests whatever we call them. I tried to drill off the allen hex screw yesterday, for that little black plastic fairing, like i said before, but it hasn`t come off, it just keeps getting bigger. Don`t know what to do. Might just leave it and curse it, every time i look at it, fucking screw!!!
