Another oil leak - pls help me identify

Hi all,

I had my head gasket changed last year, and it seems?? to be leaking in exactly the same place again.

Can someone help me identify or confirm as I can´t see how it can be leaking in the same place after just a short time.

It is a VERY small leak (not even dripping) but still oil is managing to escape. It´s coming from the left side as you look at the big bolt which holds the frame and also where there is the big rubber coolant hose. A tiny bit of oil gets on the fairing after a ride and also a bit onto the rubber hose. I can put my finger in there and feel the wetness (no pun).

Would this be the gasket again? Is there a cheap easy way to fix this?

Many thanks, please advise.

P.S I change the oil 1 month ago and put in exactly 3.2 litres, just as the manual specifies with a filter change. But when I check the oil as per the manual, I can see that the level is almost to the top of the sight glass. Could this be a reason to cause a small leak like I have described?

Sorry, not, head gasket, head cover gasket (valve cover gasket) the top thick rubber one. The only thing I can think of is that they replaced it with the original part that they had right in stock the last time but didn't change it for the replacement part under FAR. I said to them it was a recall, but they checked and said no. Now I think I should tell them in is a FAR MC08-16 and show them on the internet.

Could they have checked for a recall but not FAR? Do I really need to show them or is it country specific?

I'm hoping it might be something completely unrelated, but I can't see how. I let out a bit of oil carefully this morning and the level went from high up in the sight glass to just between the two marks.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, I`d love to hear, thanks in advance.

Ok, so picked up the bike, and this time!!!, he actually showed me the old valve cover gasket and 6 O-rings, that they said they replaced a year ago (my effing arse) and tried to charge me twice!!. I complained and they took off the cost of parts immediately! after I told them that they didn`t change the gasket the last time. Wankers! So now I have the -0378 part number valve cover gasket and 6 new O-rings. I hope now it god damn lasts. No matter how friendly you think you are with those guys at the stealership, they will still try it on with you. So sad!

Now I'm thinking of changing to a Suzuki Bandit 1250, what do you think about that? or, a B-King?

Thanks for that info. I've been looking at all those to be honest, but I really like the naked version of the Suzuki better. Trouble is the prices in Brazil, the extra taxes they add on really make bikes expensive here, but just gotta live with that. Mt-09 as it's called here is a great option, but that Suzuki takes the cake in my opinion.
