So i guess it was inevitable but i was trying to prove that theory wrong. haha. I've had my 09 zx6r since july 2010 and it's pretty much just been used to tear up the backroads with hopes of getting on the track someday to really have some fun. Anyway, i had a couple close calls when i first started but that was due to inexperience and after dedicating myself to riding the last couple years i got faster, smoother, and more confident with every ride....till last tuesday.
I was pumped to go for a quick ride after work, it was probably gonna be my last chance to do some serious riding before the rain comes for the next 6 months. I'm glad i was pumped up because it made me put my gear on...but on the other hand i was probably way too amped up to ride intelligently. I needed speed and lots of it.
I normally like to putt down the road a couple miles to get to my favorite freeway on ramp(really nice banked right hand circle), take the turn like im on the track then rip up the highway to the next exit to warm the tires up a bit before i hit the twisties. Hella fun.
Well the on-ramp had traffic going on to it so i figured i would pass it up, go down like a 1/4 mile access rd, turn around in the gas station and then rip back up the access rd and jump on the entrance after traffic had cleared. easy enough. Well as soon as i turn around in the gas station and ready to enter the road i see that the road is clear, there's some cuties hanging around, others gawking at the bike as i rev the Akra...so i decide to give em a little demo. Lol. i immediately start roasting the back tire across the road on an angle crossing 2 lanes and then as soon as i was able to turn it up i was gonna stab it and pull the wheel up after shifting into 2nd....well i didnt take notice of the last set of double yellow lane lines for some reason and i let all the power go to the back wheel while still on the outside of the tire. needless to say but that tire swung out violently cuz i was around 14k rpmat the time...i stayed on top of it as i slid out for a bit but then as it rehooked up it fucking launched me. rag doll city i hear. i slammed hard on my elbow, shoulder and helmet but was able to roll out and pop up out of it. i actually thought i came away unscaved for a minute but when i went to pick up my bike i had no use of my shoulder. and my bike had fluids pouring out. i guess im not going anywhere. what an idiot! Long story short, i got off easy i think. A separated shoulder (ac joint) and fractured collarbone. Im hoping you guys tell me i got lucky with the bike too,

right clip on broke, windscreen gone.
mid-fairing toast

busted engine covers(idle and starter)is where oil was coming out

But this sucks the most, my bruised Akra

oh yeah and it ripped my spool mount off.
honorable mention: broken brake pedal, crack in lower fairing, random scuffs. Somehow the gas tank was unscaved and my lighting.
So i thought i would share my incident, maybe tell everyone how much my gear helped me out and see if anyone might have some spare parts laying around for my rebuild
