Long time lurker but never really introduced myself. Im from Maui and recently bought a 2012 ZX6-R 5 Months ago. My bike has been acting up lately. About a week ago I went to start up my bike as i pressed the power i hear something like a spark under the seats. Gauges suddenly dies. I turn the key back on and no sign of power. I removed the key and I see the speedometer arms started going off, crazy! Placed the key back on, turn, and powers back but ones i hot the power goes back off. Wtf... Ones i had it started it does a high rev/idle then goes to a low steady idle... So i was wondering what is up and really appriciate you guys help.
Sounds like an electrical issue. You should still be under the 1-year manufacturer warranty. Bring it in IMMEDIATELY to your dealer to get it fixed, as electrical problems can be very problematic and hard to diagnose/fix.
Ok, thanks guys. Ill take it to the dealer this weekend. Just wanted to know the problem so that I know what to look at when it happens again in the future.

Are you familiar with warrant work? It's 5 months old and still under warranty. Do not try to fix or diagnose it yourself. Let the dealership figure it out. That's what the damn warranty is for.

Um, I don't think so, b/c if you are under warranty, like goingtoscotland said, just bring it to the dealer.
you can void your warranty by fucking around with the bike yourself. so don't. bring it to the dealer, tell them what happened. done.
