Default 2011+ Ninja 1000 Forum

Every couple of weeks I check in to KawiForums to see if they've added a forum for the new Ninja1000, yet to no avail. I did however come across a moderator's comment saying that if there is enough traffic in a particular thread for this beauty of a bike they will consider giving it its own forum; which it rightfully deserves!

Let's use this thread for any and all Ninja 1000 topics:
General discussion about the model,
Modifications new owner's have made,
Performance specs,
Pics of real owner's' bikes, etc.

I'm on an '08 Ninja650 and can't wait to get my ass on a Ninja1000!
After riding one at the Demo Days tour stop in Dallas last year I've had the bug. I routinely make trips to the local shop just to drool over it!

Hopefully this new bike will start to get the attention it deserves; it's the perfect combination of power, comfort, and versatility!

Enjoy!

Yep we need our own sub forum. Guaranteed to get some traffic on it. I have a 2012 Ninja 1000 and love it. Possibly the best bike I've owned.

I ride a 2010 ninja 650r and the ninja 1000 is the only bike I'd trade it for! Gorgeous bike!

If I buy another sport bike it'll be a Ninja 1000 or Z1000 (1043 cc version). I recently bought a cruiser and, for what I use it, it's the perfect street machine.

The Ninja 1000 is sexy as hell though. I've been wanting one since it first came out. I sat on one in 2010 and I liked it even more. Maybe I can snag a used one in the next year or so.

If you buy one you'll love it. I've had several SS bikes and loved the power and handling, I'm just getting too old for the hunched over ergos. The newer bikes are even more track oriented than the bikes I've owned. I had an '03 Z1000 and it was a great bike, the only thing I grew tired of was the wind blast on the highway. The Ninja has a decent windscreen and makes the highway a lot more tolerable than the Z. Both are great bikes....and that motor. It's loads better than the '03 was. Great torque down low and just keeps on pulling through to the limiter....... Good stuff. Plus you can mount hardbags. I'm getting all excited just talking about it. LOL

Got me a green one, '12, yesterday. Better than my 06 FZ1, and bike #35 for me since '72. I am impressed after my first 60 miles. Wired it for a heated jacket and the bike was a blast in 40 degree weather. Hate having to keep the revs below 4k for 600 miles though. Very strong for 3k to 5k rpms IMO.

Yep, pulls great right off idle and doesn't let up til redline. Most bikes that pull this good down low seem to let up a little on top, but not this one. You will like the little hit around 6 grand. It wheelies very easy.
