81 KZ650 CSR issue

I have an 81 kz 650 csr and the issue I am having is that it seems to hit a flat spot at 5000 rpms. Once you get into the higher rpms the bike runs like a champ. I checked the carbs and everything looked fine. Anyone have issues with this before?

Clean the carb's even if they look good. Rebuild kit may be a good idea also.
Any aftermarket accessory on it?

I will have to check but I think the Dyna Green's are 3.0 ohm , My bike has problems
with Greens so I know most Turbo owners use Dyna Gray coils at 2.2 ohm. I could be wrong
but I'm thinking that the 900 cc and over use Dyna Green coils. Other than that may still
be a carb issue.

Reclean your carbs and make sure that the pilot jets are clear. They are tiny and hard to see through, a single strand of copper from a copper wire should be able to fit through, if it cant, is not clean!
