Default KZ1000 Carb adjustment?

I have a 1977 KZ1000
I need some help with the carbs

I am trying to figure out the standard on the air screws, how far out should the be set.. the factory standard

I assume all 4 should be set pretty much the same?

I have pod filters on the bike so I know the factory/standard adjustment will probably not be correct but I am just looking for a good starting point

The bike is running rich, and the plugs are getting dirty quickly, I think the bike has been rejetted to allow for the pods. I have the air screws turned out about 1 3/4 or 2 full turns... can't remember off hand

Thanks!!

Looks like no one has an answer... 3/4 - 1 1/2 turns out should put you in the ballpark, depending on your mods. You should also use a "vacuum gauge" to balance the carbs as close as possible. Good Luck!

Pretty much all carbs a the same. On my 93 gsxr, my 04 yzf125, and my lawn mower; the adjustment starts at 2 full turns out. Depending on the size of the jets you may need to screw in you may need to screw out. My gsxr has the biggest jets I could fit into it and it's about 1 & 1/8 turn out for street riding.
