i welded up some cool little shit for GE nuclear, but didnt get pics.. but i got some of another GEN job. its called an L-Pick, and i have no fucking idea what its for.

boss said "make them pretty" so.. i did. i waled the cup on them.
built this jig in a couple minutes after tacking one up to print. i think the spacing was .160 off the bottom and .. i cant remember the angle. all stainless. goes down inside a nuclear reactor for some sorta maintenance.

kind of a shitty pic, but you get the point. i sand blasted them to remove the blueing and give them a uniform look and color. used a synchowave 250, HF start, 316 1/16" rod, thumb button control ( forgot the amps.. 75 i think) , 100% tungsten and 100% argon at 15cfh. i wanna say a 7 cup but i am probably wrong.

Nice work. I'm part of the refueling team at my plant, but I don't recognize those things. Must be something to do with empty vessel work.

i honestly have no idea. i'll ask the engineer when i see him. we just prototyped some cool shit i'm not at liberty to talk about (not even patented yet) but is kinda neat as well. that was all machining though. the only thing that got welded was a display for the part. lol

aaaand looking into a REAL actual electronically stabilzed gyro, i can build one of those, too, if you guys think you'd want one. off the top of my head i'll probably ask about $200 for one.. possibly more. lol i don't know yet. i gotta build one and see what all is involved as far as parts. "ATMega32 with a L3G4200D" is all i have so far..

i still need to do that for you, rob.. lol
you're not the only lazy one.

well, 74 honda 250 dirtbike machining.. blown head gasket.. looks like someone hit the head with a stone trying to get he gasket off of there.. all sorts of little gouges from stones and razor blades and the occasional screwdriver. surface was TERRIBLE looking.. chucked the jug up in a lathe.. pulled .002 off the deck. about .006 off the bottom of the jug, and another .002 off the head. head was milled with a bigass fly cutter.

i lapped the valves with 180 grit schmootz and tossed it all together like something that gets tossed together.
my phone is a piece of shit, so therefore, the cam is a piece of shit.. so these pics are meh.

i think the most interesting part is that its a 4 valve head. i haven't come across anything that old that was a thumper and had a 4 valve head.

also super slick was "milling" the jug on a lathe..
