2013 Kawasaki ZX-6R vs. 2012 Suzuki GSX-R750 vs. 2012 Triumph Daytona 675R - Video
 

In 2011 we pitted the Ducati 848 EVO, Suzuki GSX-R750 and Triumph Daytona 675R against each other both on the track and street to find the king of the middleweight sportbike category. By the numbers, Suzuki's GSX-R750 emerged the winner in both arenas, but the Triumph tugged at our heartstrings throughout. Oddly, despite having the largest displacement, Ducati's 848 EVO simply couldn't hang with its Japanese and British competition.

When Kawasaki re-introduced the ZX-6R with its 636cc engine this year, suddenly the oddball middleweight sportbike wars are back on, and who better to wage this war than us? The natural competitor to the Kawi is the GSX-R750, the winner of this test in 2011. But we have such a soft spot for the Triumph Daytona 675R we decided to bring it along as well.

The new batch of Kawis (I am including the 09 in "new") sure make it hard to look elsewhere.

I find it hard to look at them.

I'm definitely not sold on the looks of the new 6 or 10, and I never did like the front end on my 09.

Guess that's why I ride an 05 now!

The 2013 6R looks better than the 09-12's. I'm liking the front; it looks more aggressive.

really when it comes down to street it really does not mater , you won't be scraping knee pads much or topping the speed limit all the time, so it comes down to look and streetable options , the GSXR seems like the best bang for the buck as far as everything goes , the 636 is more comfortable (at least it felt that way when I say on it at the dealer) than the old zx6 and ABS and traction control are nice features for the street , the daytona is nice for being nimble and power band on top of being an odd ball and not just one more honda, kawa, susuk, but the low bars can be tiring if you commute on it , unless you install some ball raisiers.

I would still pick the 636 since I love the overal package.

Agreed. I mean the 09-12 isn't great, the 13 definitely looks a lot better.

the front turn signals are ugly. Doesn't matter when it's in track plastics though :)

Really? I love the flush signals, they're nice and out of the way.

I like flush, I just think those are ugly. The 09-12 looked better IMHO.
