Default ny450's new bike

Whats up guys,
Im no longer a kawi rider! sold my 636 the other day and switched it up alittle bit. I absolutely loved the kawi and will without a doubt miss it beyond belief, however i just like to try new things once and awhile.

i have been commuting a hell of a lot on the highway for school and i figured i would try something a little bit bigger and a bit more comfy...this bike has been one of my favorites ever since i got into motorcycles and its pretty tough to find a mint one like i did..most are either stunted out and trashed or have real high miles...i love the fact thats its got the old school style and that it can be appreciated for that instead of every other 08 in my town that you can just buy at the dealer.

i rode it for an hour last night and definitly can see myself liking it alot. doesnt have the great handling of the ninja but that was expected. once i throw on a steering damper it should be much better. the power is AWSOME...so much torque, but not enough to make it overkill like some of the newer 1000's...i used to have an f4i so i immediatly felt comfy on the bike which is a real good sign. i am into the stunting aspect of riding so the fact that it is a sought after wheelie bike makes it even better.

I will definitly miss the 636, and thats no b.s., that bike had part of my heart, but for now im excited to set this thing up over the winter and have an original ride that noone around here has..i love kawiforums so i wont be leaving just because the silver 636 with the neon green rims is gone

after 3-4hrs of cleaning and polishing:

01 929rr erion
double bubble windscreen
10k hids
custom painted front fender, intake covers, and hugger to match
pc'ed rims with polished lips
pc'ed brake calipers/rotors
polished pass. pegs/swingarm/subframe
freestyle enginuity sliders(cage can be added to them)
+3 rear sprocket,brand new chain
brand new led undertail(brand new style, looks hot)
flush mount fronts
d&d exhaust

i plan on ditching the d&d and doing something custom over the winter. exhaust choices for the 929/954 are very limited so i will probably just buy a used slip on and chop it down real short unless i can fab up a gp shorty. i love the paint scheme so i have no plans on changing any colors. steering damper is definitly first thing on the list. probably throw some pazzo or asv levers on along with a few little custom touches here and there and call it a day!

i know many will say i made a huge downgrade from the 636 and everything..oh well, my decision..when you find a bike that has been a "dream bike" for years, you kinda make exceptions.

what do you think?!

Bike looks good. Nice and clean. I started on a 929 that was a friends. Gotta say i like em too but im partial to my 636. Ditch that d&d, never heard one that sounded good. Good luck with it bro.

hey man, that 929 looks sooo clean... I'm diggin' it! It has been your dream bike for a while and that makes it special. Congrats!

How do you like it as far as comfort? Comfy seat? No vibration? Seat and clip ons height?

BTW I hate you cause I wanted that GPR you were selling but I was waiting on some money from a check that just became available this morning! I really wanted it... YOU SUCK

thanks alot guys !!

cenzo: its definitly very comfy. the seat is a bit bigger than the 636's and similiar in comfort however the tank position and clip ons are definitly different. i feel like it gives more of an "upright" riding position. im fairly tall, around 6'2-6'3 and my back and shoulders felt right at home. i used to love how my old f4i felt and they say the 929 is very similiar to that so i think thats why i may like it so much. i havnt noticed any more vibrations that i had with the 636 however, like twoods said, the headshake is horrible. i ripped it up to a buck20 and got a bad speed wobble on a straight away. i did alot of research beforehand and they say it is totally common, and cureable with a stabilizer so that will definitly be my first mod. back then bikes didnt come with the built in dampers like most do today so its understandable.

overall im happy with it so far..i like that its not so common and that its got that old school flavor. i had 2nd and 3rd gear standup wheelies on the 636 almost mastered so i look forward to re-learning on the 929

nice bike, out of the japanese four, if I didn't get a kawasaki, I would have gone with honda. They make really good bikes.
