just get some training wheels and attach them to your swingarm, get a good helmet, some floatys, knee and elbow pads, and some football shoulder pads, you will be good to go.

Been thinking about getting a shiny new 250R for some time now as my first bike. After reading this thread I am terrified to ruin it. How many of you that dropped your bike had frame sliders and how much damage did you have?

was slowing down under an overpass and passed over one of those rubber traffic lines and the front wheel tucked, i was going like 5mph... a bit of wear on the frameslider, thats about it.

Yup dropped my 06 Ninja 250 twice.

First time was on the track, got nervous I went in too hot on a wet track and looked into the infield and that's where I went. Only it was all mud and as soon as the front tire hit I was down in it.

Then later that week when I got it back together my tail light burnt out and I tried taking the rear cover off at a gas station. Well I pushed to hard with the kit screw driver, kick stand in and bam. That one was more embarassing lol

And then it got totalled by a woman pulling in front of me. I wouldn't really consider that a 'drop' though.

Only had my bike and license for a week, and I've been carefull enough not to drop it yet, although I did have one close call turning around at the end of a dead end street.

However, I did drop the bike once during my MSF course learning how to turn around in the box. Glad I got the first one out of the way on someone elses bike.

i put yes, only cosmetic damage. cuz thats all the bike got, i on the other hand got f#$%ed slam up.

Gettin a 250 with a lil cosmetic damage sounds like a good idea to me. Take it easy get good gear.

FYI my Joe Rocket mesh jacket lasted about .00000001 seconds against the pavement. But my 3 part Teknic Jacket (had just the mesh part on) barely got scuffed.
