Question Zephyr 750 C1

Hello everyone and greetings good motorbike people!
I have a restoration on the go (Zephyr 750 C1) and have just completed the engine work but have a manual after market cam chain tensioner fitted. I cant find any reference to tension adjust so have done this by feel. Set up timing and all valve clearances then once the valve cover fitted have slowly wound on tension to the cam chain while rotating the engine manually to ensure consistent smooth rotation. Does any one have any better experience of this manual type of tensioner. It is frustrating as I have followed the Haynes manual all the way through the engine build and valve adjustments but the manual has no reference to a manual cam chain tension adjuster.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
