Yo guys my name is Dusty and I just recently bought a used 2001 ninja 250. It was previously in a crash but the guy fixed everything before I bought it so it is safe to ride just not to much of a looker yet lol. I am hoping I can learn some things on here about bikes, I have no previous experience not even dirt bike or mopeds.

Good choice on the 250. They're great bikes to learn on.

Since you have no experience, absolutely take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Riders Course. It's worth every penny. Also, don't forget gear.

I have already taken the course I did not even buy the bike until i knew riding was gonna be for me. I am not one for putting my life at risk so I am taking it slow on the bike. I have had it about a month and have not even taken it out into traffic staying on back roads and parking lots to get to learn the feel of it first.

best advice i can give with what was said above is to keep it at your own pace. there is no race to put it out in traffic. Get comfortable before you get going.
