Default New rider and need help!

Wassup everybody?

I just bought a kx100 about a week ago and this is my first bike ever. I already kinda got the hang of riding already so I been trying to wheelie. I can get the front wheel off the ground but my problem is whenever i feel like it pops up too high i tend to take my feet off the pegs. do you guys have any tips?

ps: on a 2 stroke, is it better to wheelie on 1st gear or second? and when i hold the clutch should i rev the engine and then dump it or should i just give it gas then dump the clutch?

thanks in advance

Nuts on the tank and grip the tank with your thighs and knees. Keep gripping and your feet won't come off the pegs.

It's not enough to just power it up into a wheelie; just gun it? The first time I did it on my brother's dirt bike (granted it's a 250), I was amazed at the torque.

and i noticed you have more control when you wheelie on 2nd gear since there isnt as much power as in 1st
