ZZR600 Rearsets

Hey guys, so I guess this is my first post.

I am looking for rearsets for my 08 ZZR600J aka 02 zx6r.

Reason is I was doing a check last night and found my oem rearset stay bracket part 35011-1874 has snapped/broken.

I've been looking online for some aftermarket adjustable sets (I'm tall 6'-3") and cant seem to really find anything thats sparked my interest. I've noticed that most if not all of the kits do not have folding pegs, is this a racing saftey feature? I like the fact that if you drop the bike the pegs still fold up and you have a chance of driving the bike home rather than just towing it with broken pegs.

To keep this short, i'm looking for some CHEAP, folding and adjustable rearsets. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

TIA

I think the cheapest you'll find will be protekk.com but they don't have folding pegs. Not many companies out there that offer sets for our bikes any more.

Adjustable rearsets have non-folding pegs. As 95kawizx6r stated, it's hard to find rearsets for the J model these days. Ebay has some now and again, but you're looking at $400 for a set.

If I were you I'd search my local area for someone that can weld aluminum and have him/her put your rearsets back together. That's what I did after my last crash. Well Whitehendrix (another member here) welded them back together, but you get my drift.

Cheap sorry mate for our bikes cheap isn't a god word
A good set for the J I have been looking for and they are pretty expensive
Woodcraft you are looking around 200 and thats just for the pegs, bracket, and heel guard
Vortex hasn't made a J set yet
Bohemian is what I have been looking at pretty good about 230.
If you have no spending limit then CRG, Gilles, Lightech, and driven have racing sets; but those rage 400-700

that bracket alone is going around 80 bucks OEM

your best bet is to find a part out of a bike and get the whole rear set thats what I did my left bracket snapped in the crash and I ordered everything for 50 bucks. If you do get an OEM bracket the bolt in there has thread lock and is a real pain to get it out.

Thanks for the reply's, I have been looking at the bohemian rearsets and the look pretty good with not too bad reviews. On their sites it shows the sets are around 250.
Where did you see them for 230?

I can get my shop to weld my oem stay, but how much fun is that? Does anyone have any pics of what these sets look like on the bike?

Well, you guys got me thinking about rearsets, so I got a set of bohemian racing. I'll post up how they feel when they come in.

I Purchased a set of these. I thought they were well machined. I really liked the shifter side but the brake was at too steep and angle. I ended up filling in and remilling the slot at the correct angle. I am manly using my bike for tourning so I was not looking for an aggressive riding position. It only took me about a hour to do but I have access to all the tools I required.

I've not found the need for aftermarket rearsets. Even on the track I only scraped pegs when I leaned the bike too far. Proper body and foot position fixed that.

Those black rearsets look sexy though. I'm wondering if they'll move forward for commuting comfort. :Hmmmm:

I've never had a problem with the stock rearsets either, only ever scraped once and that was just being stupid and going way to fast for street riding.

I did put some of the cycle control risers as i posted above on though as either due to the placement of the stock pegs or the length of my legs i found myself gripping more of the frame with my legs instead of the tank. Raising the pegs an inch with the risers made for a much more comfortable and less tiring ride, for me anyway.

So I ended up purchasing the Bohemian Aftermarket sets from Bohemian Racing. Got them and put them on. Instal didn't take very long, a little over an hour.

I had the same issues with the braking side where the pedal was way too low, I think i'm going to use an m8 coupler and rod to see if i can extend the rod out ofthe master cylinder and adjust the pedal that way.

As far as quality goes, They look like decent material but they are painted(black). After just 1 ride I've already scratched the heck out of the shifter lever and the peg.

I've emailed Dennis this info as well to see what/if he can do anything for me.

if anyone wants I can probably upload some pictures later on.
