ZX10 front calipers

I picked up a set of front calipers for a 08 ZX10 and wondering if swapping them onto my 05 ZX6R is worth it? I've got a set of Galfer Superbike lines to install at the same time too.

I will clean and rebuild the calipers before installing them and the lines. I lowsided last weekend at CMP so I've got her pulled apart right now so no better time than now to upgrade the brakes

I fitted ZX14 310mm rotors to my Gen 2 ZX10R, with Gen 3 Tokico calipers, then fitted the ZX10R rotors to my ZX6R C1H, to get rid of the gold, with ZX14 Nissin calipers. So I'd say yes, they're a straight swap. I did try the Nissins with the 310mm rotors, but it was a bit too much for road use, the Tokicos gave more feel at the lever.

Thank you Doug for the advice. I have my eye on a set of galfer wave rotors to go with these cailers and the Galfer lines so it should be a good upgrade over stock.

I would buy the calipers first and test fit them to your forks. I don't believe you NEED the 310 mm rotors. The caliper carrier is usually where the difference is between models with different size rotors, the calipers are the same dimensions. For example the carriers on the 10R forks are longer to accommodate the larger rotor.

If you get the 310 mm rotors you'll need 5 mm spacers for the caliper carriers (5 mm larger radius). Now 310 mm rotors will give you some more stopping power, but I doubt it'll be mind blowing.

I have 310mm rotors from a 10R on my 636. They give a little better feel and modulation, not worth the extra expense IMO, but I got them free.

Hey!

Recently pulled my project 05 636 out of the garage to work on it.
Had the super sponge of a front brake and decided to look into replacements for MC.
While doing that, I thought might as well replace it with a whole new front brake system from a different bike (ZX6R, R6, ZX10R, ZX14R)

I'm looking for a direct swap on the whole front brake system with no spacer issue if possible with the most bang for the buck.
If someone could list a few of which they'd recommend, I'd definitely appreciate it.

At the moment, looking for a low price on 07-08 ZX6R front brake system (calipers, master cylinder).

One of the older threads, somebody recommended getting a 320mm rotor due to the 10mm spacers being easier to find than 5mm. Not sure if I need to take this into consideration.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Will this work? An 08 ZX10R Front Calipers + MC?
