OPINIONS NEEDED: Good bike to buy?

I am selling my Ninja 250r tonight in a couple of hours and looking to upgrade to the 600cc class, I finally found a buyer for the right price and been looking on Craigslist. After a few days I have stumbled upon this bike and still debating getting it. 2005 GSXR clean with extras

The fact that it has a modified gas tank for stunting has me a little worried since I don't want a beaten motorcycle, the fairings and body look remarkably good if it was a stunting bike. Only being at 28,000 miles is right around what I am looking for before I commit to buying a new 600cc bike off the lot (I want to ride a few years until I spend the kind of cash for a new one). Even if it was a stunt bike how long should it last? I talked the seller down in the price to a little over 3k, this a good deal or does something seem bad?

Probably not a bad idea for your first 600 since they are so friendly. It doesn't really matter that much though.

The Suzuki in question though...

That most likely was a stunt bike like you are thinking. The chain guard is missing also so it probably had a giant sprocket on the back.

There is a good chance those are either aftermarket fairings, or the stock ones that have been patched up. The bike has definitely seen its fair share of crap. With the exception of the sliders everything done to that bike technically lowers the price tag of it, not to mention its obviously had the crap beat out of it.

Its an 8 year old bike now also. In like new condition its probably worth about what he is asking. If you just want it to tear around on for a couple of years before you get a newer, nicer bike, then I'de offer in like $2600 although you wont get that back. . If you are looking for a bike to keep for awhile, I wouldn't buy it.

Yep... 98-02 ZX6Rs are also cheap....

And pretty much everything from the 636 swaps over
All the CBR600 F4i owners want 3,200 for their bikes which is over valued. Trust me that was my first choice in the 600CC class because it isn't as aggressive as most of the others but isn't really lagging behind in power. I don't really want another carbureted engine but I know the early 2000 r6's had them too.
I mean, if theyre charging 3200, and people are paying 3200, then they are worth 3200

They seem like good bikes, though personally I like torque
