Default Upgraded Front and Rear tire to 120/70/17, 150/70/17, Pictures!

Hi everyone,

Well, There's been a lot of requests about comparison pictures for these type of tires and I figured I would take some shots to show you guys just how big of a difference this really is.

The new tires are dunlop sportmax touring D250

130/70/17

150/70/17

110/70/17

120/70/17

I think it looks much better. As far as handling goes, it's still pretty nimble but it's not as flickable as it was with the thinner tires as expected. It feels a lot more stable on curves and freeway riding though. Here are some more pictures just for fun

Nice post! im diggin the 150 in the rear but not sure if it's a wise upgrade just yet. Seems awfully close to the chain gaurd and slightly taller than the norm, maybe a 150/60/17?.

The fitment is really tight. Any higher and you'll be rubbing. I was looking for 150/60/17's but couldn't pass up this deal so decided to try it anyway. I had to adjust the alignment of the rear wheel a bit to make it fit.

As far as the height is concerned, it's barely taller, I noticed also that the speedo is more accurate at higher speeds then before since the wheels are now higher which makes sense with the tire calculator.

the problem with lower profile tires is the the lower the height percentage means the wider the tire. Its not supposed to be that way, but it usually is. In theory the 150/60/17 should be the same height as a 130/70/17 and the same width as a 150/70/17, however, you will likely find that the 150/60/17 will most likely be wider than the 150/70/17. It should be quite a bit shorter than the 150/70/17, a bit closer to the same height as the 130/70/17.

anyone confused yet?

bottom line, a 150/60/17 will probably be a bit wider than the 150/70/17 an will probably hit the chain guard
