So you know it should read above 12.8V ... if its below 12.8 you should do a slow charge on it to recharge the battery.

$45 is cheap for a battery.

Most violated KF rule: 2. - Post titles should be descriptive of the contents of your post. i.e. "Help with fuel injectors" instead of "HELP!!!!"

See if thy have a duralast 12v battery. I know you have to fill the cells yourself with the battery acid they give you... at least thats what I had to do with a 96 virago... cant remember if that was 6v or 12v but either way, just bring in your old battery to match up the size and any battery would do. i just like the way duralast sounds. durrralast. duralaaaast

i'm sure they have a cross reference available for those batteries pictured. however i would go with a better battery if i were you. you can't go wrong with YUASA. you get what you pay for, remember that

you realize of course that there are many many different sizes of 12V batteries, right? a car battery is also 12V.

and of course there haven't been 6V street bike systems in like 40 years.

yes yes i realize that thats why i told him to bring in his old one.
figured duralast would have made a battery for every size out there.
