I read somewhere about a guy who does a lot of commuting mile who went well over 100,000 miles on a 250R. The original engine lasted something over 80,000 of those and then he put another one in. I also read that the motor in a 250R is generally good for about 50,000, or in other words more miles than it typically takes one to get wrecked.

In other news, my car has 320,000 miles on the original engine. It's a Mercedes-Benz diesel. It's not fast, but at the current rate of use, it should outlast me.

Nobody knows for sure. Eventually everyone trades them in on Ninja 650rs.

I think most of them die from being wrecked or sitting. Either because the owner got scared of it or due to neglect.

I would guess very very very few of them get "mileage dead"

If you do actually manage to wear a 250 engine out you either do A LOT of riding like the 80,000 mile engine guy. Or your maintenance sucks. I.e. way too long between oil changes etc etc.

My bike (94') has 27000 miles on it, and it's just now having problems (from what I know). Bike is stock, but as of last week, I've been having a problem with accelerating. It's fine from 0-50, but after that, it hesitates going past that, unless it manages to rev past 8k RPMs. Anyone have that problem before? I did a valve adjust a month ago, and it ran much better after that.

It'll last for all of them...
