Default Bar Ends - Necessary for new grips?

I bought new grips that I want to install but want to know if its necessary to remove the bar ends to install the new grips?

This website says it isnt: I want to get some new grips - Ninja250Wiki

However, the grip doesnt seem to get over the bar end easily. And I cant for the life of me unscrew the bar end.

You didn't answer his question.

OP you need to get the bar end off. Is the screw stripped or are you just not string enough to get it off? It should have red loctite holding it on, so you really gotta hit it hard with your purse. Lol. I imagine it's just an allen bolt holding it in. Use a wrench on the end of the allen key for leverage if you have to, and support the key with your other hand to keep it from stripping the hole (also known as counter torque).

So no you don't need new bar ends, but they are definitely in the way. Put them back on after your new grips are on.

I would still suggest not getting the ends off. its a Philips and not as easy as if it was an allen. just prestretch and put some alcohol to get it over. Trust me i've been there I thought i wasnt going over. just put down your purse and get it over it.
