Default Painting fairings

Hey all,

Was looking at buying a ninja 250 that looks like its been dragged across the asphalt on the right side fairing. (only a small stretch, but the paint is gone).

Person claims its in perfect mechanical condition, so here is my question:

If i wanted to paint the fairings, how expensive would it be to cover the small portion thats scratched up? (would i be able to do it myself?)

EDIT: Noticed there is a dent in the gas tank, is that not worth the time to fix?

Cheers,

Phil.

If the tank is dented and fairing rashed, his asking price better be quite a bit less than one in perfect condition if the same year.

You can get touch up pens to color match the paint to hide the rashed area, but since it's down to the plastic you'll need to put primer down first. Mask around it and shoot some primer, let dry, then lay down the color. Hell, depending on the size and location of the spot, put a sticker over it and call it a day.

or just finish smashing the tank (professionally of course) and make a 250 stunt bike

I'm gonna be blunt here, but how the hell would we know if you can do it yourself? Could I? Yes, but I have the shop, the tools, and the knowledge. How much will it cost? You looking for a repair estimate from people that've never seen the damage? Sandpaper and a can of spraypaint will cost $15 (if you get the good sandpaper. You going to color match it? Fill a flat spot? Blend the paint so it doesn't show? Cost and skill requirements go up as you request a better repair job. See what I'm saying?
