Put your original key in a vice and bend it back into position, just be careful not to snap it. Get your money back on the spare because it looks like they used another key for the template.

On second thoughts... do you have a separate key for the fuel tank?

I have one key for the ignition barell and a smaller one for the tank and helmet lock. You sure you using right key?

its the same key because it has worked in the past.

the keys in the pic are opposite to each other. the ridges on the left match the ridges on the right. i forgot to make sure the keys were facing the right way before i took the pic.

Forwards or backwards that cut key looks like it was cut at Walmart by the greeter. Bend the original key straight and try the lock again or go somewhere that actually know how to cut a key. Does the bent key work in the ignition? If it does then I would think it is just the lock in NFG.

It doesn't matter if they're 'opposite.' Those keys have the same pattern on each side. They do not need to be put in the lock a certain way like a regular house key for example.

The new key's cuts for the tumblers appear to be much shallower than the old key.
