Hey all,

I have been trying to find out the sizes for the pistons in the front and rear brake calipers to help me find a caliper repair kit.

So far I have found one piston that is supposed to be for the Ninja 250r (2008) but I thought they would be different sizes.

The one I found has a diameter of 27 mm and length of 31 mm. Is this correct?

Are the pistons in the rear caliper the same size as the front?

Or if someone can point me in the direction of a caliper repair kit that includes the pistons.

Why are you replacing the pistons? You should never have to do that unless they're rusted/pitted to hell. Usually they can just be cleaned up.

OEM parts retailers will have them, but it would probably be cheaper to get a caliper off of ebay than buy a rebuild kit plus piston.

Thanks lads. I was looking at buying a complete caliper but I thought it would be cheaper to just replace the pistons and seals, and you never know the pistons and seals could be bad.

OEM parts are usually over priced and in my experience the quality is about the same for aftermarket if you shop right.

I found a site that sells a selection of brake pistons which is why I was looking for the sizes.

I just think its nuts that you can get a caliper for almost the same price as two piston + seal kits.

Did you ever get the actual size?

The best I could find via searches was 27mm dia, 29mm tall. I have not had a set in my hand to measure. I was actually thinking about boring them out for bigger pistons.
