Hey guys,

Picked up an 06 250 with 6k miles on it the other day (reeeeeeally trying to get my girl on the track).

It rode fine for the test ride, or so I thought. After getting home I found that the bike didnt like to idle without the choke on, and that I had to crank up the idle screw to get it to idle correctly.

However, the setting (for the idle screw) which keeps it idling also makes the revs sticky (not the cables)- turn the throttle to 3k and it stays for a second and slowly falls down. It also has to be turned back down to start up again. Once up and warm the bike will drive fine, although it still idles a bit high. Also of note- there is a very slight gas leak along the idle adjuster screw when its turned out far.

Anyways, I know that some dipshit service tech (been fired since) was in the carbs before the PO sold it, so I'm thinking I may need to pull them and reassemble. (YES.. I have seafoam in there now)

Does anyone has a a link (or file) to the pdf of the service manual?

I'm sure there is a carb cleaning thread here but the search function is proving worthless.

It could be a number of reasons, but yea I would start with cleaning the carbs out. Sounds like something is sticking within the carbs.
