Locking wheels

Has happened to me several times already, on pretty dry/ clean roads. Seems like really easy to do on this bike. Granted, i'm over 200lbs. I have a suspicion its cause of our skinny bicycle tires (even if they have good tread) not having enough traction.

Fit a set of soft, sport tires appropriate for your bike and you will see great improvement in traction and braking performance.

When you brake there is significant weight transfer towards the front so the rear wheel is much more prone to locking.

In any case, practice at a safe place can help you understand the limits of your brakes and tires better.
