Throttle Cable

Hello, while working on the carbs for my 2006 ninja 250 i messed with the throttle cables because ever since I had the bike, if I turned to the right, it would accelerate. Now everything is out of whack. It accelerates too high and the throttle won't return. Is there so factory default setting for this? Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the decelerator cable isn't installed properly. I'd wager that it's either too loose or perhaps not attached.

I'd make sure it's attached and that it's roughly as tight as the accelerator cable.

I suppose it could need some lubrication.

I actually discovered that I have the decelerating cable was too tight. Interesting. I also had a problem with turning the steering right and it accelerating. That problem has been fixed as well.

Ah, always turn the handlebars back and forth when you route cables to the handlebars. You should see little to no movement and you should be able to turn the bars to lock on both sides.

It's also a good idea to take pictures of the routing whenever you replace houses and cables.
