Hoping to get a possible "over the forum" diagnostic of an issue with my 2009 EX500D. About 2 months after full service and carb adjustment completed my Ninja gushed out oil from the bottom while attempting a cold start in my driveway. The choke was on full, I pushed in the start button and oil began to flow out from underneath and the motor neglected to start. Until then, the bike had never leaked a drop as far as I know. That was a few weeks ago and the bike did not seem to leak while parked since then. I tried another start the other day. It started right up, but within a few seconds the leak continued and the engine stalled out.

A few weeks leading up to this issue I noticed the bike was struggling to idle above 1200 RPM (at stop lights the needle would bounce around 1000 and the pipes would cough). I found myself adjusting the idle knob daily just to keep the RPM between 1200 and 1500 at idle.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. I can't ride the bike to a shop and I do not feel like forking over money for a pick-up. Thank you.

Loose oil filter or drain plug?

If the leak started immediately after a service of the oil, I am saying oil plug or oil filter loose, bad crush washer or filter seal...
