yeah, its easy, just put tape on the side if your OC like me so that it slips in easy. to take off is simple, just use the flat screwdriver in out tools to pry it off. it hugs the seat tightly as to not fly off when running at high speed.
that is exactly the look I wanted to go for! I started another thread a few weeks ago looking for anything out there or a DIY solution.. this is awesome!
Thats sick as hell! love it, but i do not like how the point comes down in the middle of the seat, i sit as far back as possible so that wouldnt work for me...
that's actually far already near the incline of the seat going to the pillion. i'll try to post a picture of myself seating on the bike for you to see how far back it is. i only hit the cowl when i go at high speeds.
yes, there is a fiberglass pad with the seat cowl. it's just a piece of fiberglass that fits in the slot up front to catch you tailbone, you may choose to just stick that in on its own or have it covered in seat cover or actually have it upholstered with a cushion and seat cover. im going to have it painted over the weekend, ill get more pictures by this coming week.^_^
My position isn't affected, I'm just 120lbs, my butt doesn't even touch the cowl while I'm sitting coz we designed it for bigger riders as well. Although when I hit a bump and my butt losses contact with the seat the cowl catches me pretty well. I was able to go at high speeds also and its reassuring that my rear end touches something at the back. It gives me the gitters hitting a bump at high speed and ending up almost sitting on the passenger seat.
could you make a version where it goes straight across in the middle, OR kinda follows the same curve as the leather strap?
im pretty sure alot more people would want this...
here's a quick photoshop of what I would spend my money on.

If he was willing to give me one to play with i could make one like my photoshop easily. then he could have a mother mold for both styles.
1) dremmel the part in the middle off
2) using cardstock or some bendable plastic, hotglue to form the new lip
3) make a new mold of the cowl, smooth out any defects in the negative mold.
4) make new cowl.
Guess this just died. Really hoped I wouldn't have to spend all the time to make my own and get it perfect.
