2013 Kawasaki Ninja 650 Idle speed? am I doing something wrong here?
the manual says to let it idle between 1,250 - 1,350 RPM which in my mind means 1,300 RPM should be fine... We'll when I set my idle lower than 1,500 RPM's the idle needle bumps up and down not much at all like 100 RPM but say if I set it to 1,300 RPM it will bump back and forth between 1,300 RPM and 1,400 RPM. Is that normal for the idle needle to bounce like that? I never noticed it on my other bikes but maybe I'm just being paranoid... can anyone help me out please! Thanks in advance, I'm trying to explain it the best I can. Honestly the only time I can get it to stay at one constant RPM is when it's at around 1,500 RPMs

Are you doing the adjustment with the engine fully warmed up?

Yeah, I mean I've played with it a few times and it'll stay at a steady idle but after riding for a while it will go up or down a little bit, is that normal for the 650? I can just leave it at 1,500 RPM idle speed if that won't hurt the bike at all but im not sure if it will?
1500 rpm won't hurt it, but it should be steady at 1300 as long as the motor is fully up to temperature - after about 5 or 6 miles. (The oil takes another 5 or 6 miles to filly heat up)
If the bike is new it might still be a bit tight. If it hasn't had its first service yet, get the dealer to check it with the service.
and, mine, while not a 650 also bounces a bit. i dont care.
how often does it sit idling anyway.
Yeah good point, It only bounces every now and then but didn't know if this is a normal thing with twin cylinders or not? What kinda bike do you have and how much would you say it bounces?
1000 is too low.

what do u mean by 'bounces'? and what do u have? not the same bike/engine, not same results... mine idles perfect at 1000, no problems at all, never stalls... it even idles perfect at 750, but thats too low...
