“I did the IAP throttle body sync mod on my 2012 Ninja 650 yesterday, and it feels like a completely different bike. I have a two brothers exhaust and have already blocked off the PAIR valve, and I wasn't really expecting much.
However, the throttle control in all gears is MUCH smoother. There was times when I wanted to do a sharp turn and I try to slightly hit the throttle but instead it jerked me forward that felt a little dangerous.
I read some post on here while searching that 2012+ models already have this mod completed, but mine must have been right before they changed this.
If you are on the fence about doing it, i'm telling you its worth it!
Hi Jeff, is there any additional info about this mod?
I can't find any details online and maybe this is a good time to do it because it's time for post trip service for my bike and the tank will be removed for air filter replacement tomorrow
Two other threads from riderforums. The creator of the pdf chimes in on the first thread. I did version 1 a long time ago and at that time, it was fairly noticeable.

I've just performed this mod on my '11 650R (stock, 3800km odometer reading). To be honest, the bike doesn't feel that different to before. Maybe throttle roll on is a tiny bit smoother at times but otherwise I think its pretty much the same.
I used configuration #1 with 5/32 vac hose linked to the original hose that goes to the IAP sensor. Could it be that this mod is simply an alternative to syncing the throttle body vacuum as per the manual? I did read a post on rider forums by the guy that wrote the how-to for this mod where he said "the difference between this and a proper vacuum sync as per the service manual is minimal".

Thanks for the information, I didn't do it after all but I will definitely try it in spring when I will remove the tank for my annual air filter replacement.
I reverted the IAP mod back to stock recently and saw no change in throttle response and if anything the low end power delivery might be slightly better without it.
But in my experience, this did pretty much nothing. Maybe it's because my throttles are well synced?
I don't have the link right now but I did also come across a thread on riderforums That had pictures of the stock configuration on 2013+ models and it was the same as the earlier ones (no IAP mod). This does raise some questions.
Even if this mod does not help, it might prevent some future synch maintenance by upgrading the vacuum hose routing.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
