What kind of oil do you use? Oil Filter?

Kawi oil filter, Kawi oil. Changing to mobile one Syn. Heard a lot on here about OEM, K&N, AMSoil. 2009 Ninja 650R. What's your opinion?

Not another GD oil thread. Ugh!

Stick with OEM or AMSOIL filters, K&N oil filters don't do a good job. The convenient nut on the end is the only good thing about them. BTW, this isn't an "opinion", it's fact. Use whatever 10W40 oil you like. Synthetic will allow a bit more time between changes, but ultimately it's up to whatever you want. Regular changes and good filters are key in keeping your engine safe.

Most violated KF rule: 2. - Post titles should be descriptive of the contents of your post. i.e. "Help with fuel injectors" instead of "HELP!!!!"

Not another GD complaint about a post that is much like every other post on here. I could've asked about a steerijng damper or exhaust, and I would've got someone on here saying "not another exhaust thread etc" What would you have us talk about? Thanks for the opinion though. Just keep the complaining off the boards. Thanks. And frankly, as far as the grumpy people, I tend to become more obnoxious when people whine, so if people start bitching about this thread, I'll post more "obnoxious" threads. Just let it go, answer the question, and move on like big boys and girls. I think I'll go with the amsoil filter and stick with the synthetic. Keep in mind, I'm new to the biking world, so I want to make sure I am properly taking care of my bike by getting a collective opinion instead of just listening to one or two people and then making my decision. You'll have to forgive that I'm not looking through thousands of threads to see if someone posted this already. Thanks again for the opinions so far.

I use Castrol 4T 4-Stroke motorcycle oil with a purolator filter. Has anybody else used the Castrol 4T oil? Are there any bad reviews about the Castrol oil that I should know about?

I'm sure we have all done it on one board or another, posted a popular question that we probably could have used the search to find some threads that deal with the same thing we are looking for input on.

I'm pretty sure I've done it as well when I didnt get a great answer by searching or there was no sticky for a certain aftermarket part.

So anyhow, this was a decent read on your question:
oil and Coolant change

Good luck in your decision.

aight glad you like it... yeah just ignore haters and critics that will appear on this kinds of threads... maybe they are just fed up...

i used motul but switched to redline full syn oils.... there are just a lil improvement between brands the most important part is you have to be consistent in change oils and replacing oil filter... thats the key to maintaining your bike.... enjoy and have fun!
