I use dupont chain saver and a rag as well. But I'm going through cans like crazy and figured I would save some money if I used kerosene to clean the chain and then used the dupont to lube it up.

Save more money and use diesel to clean the chain instead of kerosene. Rag and a tooth brush.

Where can I purchase diesel? And how do I dispose of it properly after I use it?

Thanks for adding that Garrett. You're right, better tell the noobs than look at gruesome pictures.

I picked up a gallon of kerosene at a gas station about two years ago and I still have about 1/4 of it left. I also do 10,000 miles a year round about so it gets used. Diesel will do just as good of a job, so I would go buy whichever is lesser expensive. Kerosene I think has less fumes than diesel does though.

Haha honestly it wouldn't surprise me to see one of them think to do that as a quicker way to clean it up without thinking of any consequences.
I've seen pics of what a nice new rear sprocket does to human flesh.... not pretty at all
