I just store mine in a couple 5 gallon homer buckets and take them to a free hazardous waste disposal near my house when they get full.

I'd be surprised if someone on here vocalizes that they are super green and bake with it or something ridiculous...actually I don't think I'd be surprised

I have a plastic tub that holds 6 empty gallon washer fluid jugs. It is nice because any oil spilled while filling the jugs goes into the tub around the jugs.

After several months I fill all 6 jugs, then I get some weight lifting to take them to an auto parts store and empty them into their recycling container. Busses use this oil after it is cleaned, and more recently Valvoline sells a recycled oil for cars.

we have curbside recycling in my county. You just put it out with the trash cans. They take care of it.

I work at a golf course and I just bring it to the maintenance garage and pour it in with the oil from their tractors and shit.

It's usually best to hide dipshit things you do from others. Tricks them into liking you. I don't get how people can do this and not feel like a lazy douche. Auto parts stores are everywhere and they take it for free. It couldn't be easier, short of them coming to your house and picking it up too. Come on, man. Have a little respect for those that have to clean up after people like you.

Sorry dude, but the majority of that oil soaks in the wood. Its not much different than a cresote soaked lightpole.

Sorry dude.. I guess you haven't noticed how the bottom of the pole is darker as the creosote leaches to the ground and over the past 20+ years, few creosote poles have been used and alternative, less hazardous, means of preservation have been used.

Blah blah blah hippy ramble blah blah. why is nobody asking Why OP couldn't figure this shit out on his own? The question was "what do you do with it?" Not "what is your opinion on how other people handle it?" I don't change my oil, just add some when the old stuff burns off.

So what's the up front cost of safely modifying the truck to use motor and vegetable oil? I think you may need to PM me the list of stuff I need to get. I figured the waste oil needs filtered for sure, but I wasn't sure of the best way to do that. This is something I'm interested in since I just normally take my motor oil to Advance Auto and toss my vegetable oil when it's too dirty.
