In the begining was time.....and as time went on there was idle time.....and then boredome!!.

That being said....here are the begining pics of the 2000 ZX6R to 2004 636 subframe/tail section conversion.

I did not see any posts or pics of anyone else doing this so I'll start.....

Thanks to ebay for the wonderfully cheap pricing!!

Side by side comparing, the seats are almost exactally identical!!
The only slight difference is that the newer one is 1/4in. smaller ...so close that it gave me chills!!....the welding will be the tricky part, but simple at the same time.

Update......

Pieces are measured and cut....prepped and ready for welding!!

Went to take a pic or two......batteries dead......Will try to get some tomorrow!!

Looking great so far....simple 8 cuts and careful measuring.....came out perfect!!!(so far)

Ok.....parts are at the shop....welding is taking place as we speak(you read)......

Does anyone have a lead on a tail light assembly?....still yet to find one on ebay again....and an undertail, any condition...all has to be painted too....oh!...and a rear seat or tail cover?

Thanks

Well, giant crap sticks......the shop totally misread what's happening and turned around and is now saying it might take up to 4 HOURS!!! to do the necessary welding!!??

I'm off to another shop......somewhere where the welders aren't blind!

One small setback....lol

That's what I was thinkin....bending.....but would make a mess more than anything and it would definatelt weakin the structure....the bottom part is kinda close but the top has to come a long way to fit.

Update....I do believe I have found a reasonable welder...just have to get him the pieces now.

Jason
PS..thanks....I'm searching ebaY right now.

This mod is all for those who want...I will share....

I'll do a final "needs" and "must haves", when I am done, with complete pictures and drawings.

All I would ask is to give me the proper "props" and recognize the site as the source......all about respect these dayz.

Till Monday!

Sweet. I'd be very interested in seeing a detailed breakdown of how youd did this. I wish there were a simpler way than having to weld though...
