stationary i could rev the bike to 10k rpm or so and let go of the throttle. the first few times it wont do it but after 3 or 4 times flames will shoot out. bike has been running same as always. tomorrow i'll put back the fairings and take her for a ride and see if it does it while revving but i dont think it will its when the revs come down that it does it.
also theres no smoke or anything coming out. first couple of revs u'll hear the popping then a few more flames. hope that makes sense lol

sounds like you're simply loading the cylinders... the bike can't tell whether it's under load or not.. therefore it dumps a preprogrammed amount of fuel in each cylinder anticipating a load to be placed. when no load is present, less fuel is used, resulting in "loading".. it's on a more moinor scale than race motors or top-fuel dragsters and all, but nonetheless, thats what it sounds like to me.. you're just kinda wasting fuel at that point..lol
lean will pop like a motherfucker. had a CFR 450 i just fixed up and tuned that did that shit. threw 1 foot flames and sounded like fuckin fireworks goin off in the shop..lol thats a big bore too, alot of air and fuel goin in and out fast. got the shit dialed in and it was dead quiet on decel and accel and no-load rev, except for the loud ass FMF pipe.. that bike is a goddamn monster too..lol 5th gear roll-on wheelies FTW.

haha damn. i know what it's like man. that shit sucks when you can't ride. i still gotta wait a month til my license is unfucked.. gives me time to work on the bike tho.
as far as fuel tho, even tho i think it's loading up a tiny bit, let's wait to see what TG has to say.. i always like to see what he's got in mind anyway.
good luck on your shit tho in the meantime homey.

so the bike is running a little hot. i put it together and rode home. hwy speed of about 75 and temps wouldnt get much lower than 190ish. never went about 212 though. it also is getting hot under my seat. my mods are a muzzy header with two bros slipon and a commander. maybe it doesnt like the map im running or maybe its the spark plugs i would think. oh and the whole exhaust is wrapped with header wrap. any suggestions?

Lean make it shoot fire. What is happening is that the there is a lack of fuel in the charge. The molecules are too far apart. The burn process is called "Deflagration" in which one fuel molecule lights off the it's neighbor, which in turn lights off it's neighbor in a cascading affect. When the charge is lean, and the fuel molecules are spaced farther apart, there becomes an interruption in the deflagration process and some of the molecules don't get oxidized and burned. The unburned fuel then puddles or pools up in the exhaust system and when it reaches a A/F ratio close enough to stoich, it ignites causing a shockwave (The popping sound) and a flame. The same holds true with a rich condition in the reverse order. When there is enough oxygen present in the pipe the excess fuel lights off making flames and a gurgling sound.

Would doing wheelies mess up the throttle body synchronization?
