Default Ask me a technical question....?

I'm bored and could go for a challenge right now. Ask me a technical question regarding the theory, operation, and principals of a motorcycle, watercraft, or ATV.

Please include:

The year/make/model

A description of the problem/question

This isn't a flame-fest baiting session, don't be afraid to ask, even if you think it may be a noob question. Have at it...

EDIT! NON-TECHNICAL/TRIVIAL questions will not be answered or entertained. Please don't ask me what pipe or turn signals are best for your bike. Those question are a matter of opinion and are not technical. Please don't try to quiz me trivial shit either, I'm not going to waste my time with a response or make long-winded what is otherwise a genuinely legit thread. Thanks TG

Quit jiggling each others dicks and address the topic of the thread.

I have one.

Are wave/petal/funny shaped rotors really superior to the traditional round brake rotors? Will the fad of unny shaped rotors ever pass?

this isn't really that technical
but i've never removed my tank before
is there a way to remove it without taking all the gas out of it first
ie. when i disconnect the fuel hose joint with gas in the tank will it spew all out.

(btw, i'm doing this cause i want to reach the coolant reservoir to top up some coolant. let me know if i'm doing the wrong thing by removing the tank)

Why do speedometers on cars go higher than 100mph?

There is no speed limit 100mph ANYWHERE

If your really bored and have some time... You could name off all the parts that make up your engine from the air box down to the oil pan(I gave you those two for free). No cheating.

That would be fun. Bonus points for Kawasaki part numbers. And include the turbo

I lol'ed and rep'ed you too, you poutine slurping Knuck. Guess I wasted it too?

What I meant (jokingly) by look up "how to work on a bike" was that you are a rookie and won't get get any help from me for that comment. But it was a joke, don't get pre-menstrual Canadian.

Wave rotors actually have less contact area at a given time than conventional rotors, the benefit from the wave design is the self-cleaning characteristic, and the slight heat dissipation advantage.

Will the fad pass? The jury is out on that one. They do have their purpose in the performance world though.

Are you referring to an '05 636 as stated in your sig?

I think we're all aware of the marketable reasons funny shaped rotors are "better", but i was looking for something more in depth, possibly even some evidence that funny shaped rotors do little to dissipate heat over slotted round rotors. I have theories but i wanted to hear from Tough Guy as well.

The gas wont come out. You will lose a tinyyyy tiny bit when you undo the line
