hey i have the opportunity to buy a 2008 650r with 23k miles. front tire is 1 month old. new back tire. never dropped. got oil and filter changed recently. The drive chain is about 6 months old. I have swing arm spools on it, and a swing arm stand (included). tags are expired, missing a screw, and missing second pair of keys. all highway miles. He is asking 3800 but we are at 3650 right now. what should i expect to pay?

private sale.

his post "This is my baby. I bought it brand new and its been good to me ever since. Reason Im selling? Could use the extra cash. It has 23145 fun highway miles on it. I used to use it every day for work because I live far from work and I wanted to save time and gas which I did. I carpool now though, so not using it much. The only things wrong with it right now; is the tags are expired as of last month ($188), missing a screw on the fairing and on the chain guard, and missing the second set of keys to it. Has normal wear and tear from being a high mile ridden 3 year old bike. Other than that its in great condition. The front tire is brand new as of last month, and Im including an extra rear tire that I bought with the front. I have not dropped the bike. No accidents. I changed oil and filter not long ago. The drive chain is about 6 months old. I have swing arm spools on it, and a swing arm stand (included). Price is firm and please no low ballers. "

Does it look like he kept it in good condition? If he did, thats the only way I would even recommend a 2008 with 23k miles on it. Even if they were all highway miles.

Were you able to test ride it?

As for the price, $3650 sounds a little high for my tastes. Wait for other people's posts as see what they say about it.

Just for reference I bought my 09 with 4k miles for about $4500. It had about $600-$700 worth of mods on it and a 4 year kawi warranty.

Miles are high... ask about clutch, brakes, valve job, battery, etc. You should be able to find an '08 with <10K miles all day long for $4K. He will have a hard time selling, and so will you when your ready to upgrade.

costco zx-6r

Does anyone know what the costco pre-arranged price on the zx-6r is?

According to the program you are supposed to call an 800 number, they then give you the name of a dealer that participates in the program, you call and make an appointment, they then show you a paper that has the price of the model you are looking for.

The problem for me is the closest dealer that participates in the costco program is 3 hours away.

I don't want to drive 3 hours just to learn what the price is, it may not be worth it, and they will not tell you over the phone.

I talked to the dealer over the phone and he did tell me that it is cheaper than what he or his employees could purchase the bike for.

I talked to a local kawasaki dealer and he said many of the dealers are protesting by not participating because costco is forcing them to sell at "ridiculous" prices.

If anyone knows or can find out the costco price on the zx-6r, it would be much appreciated.

P.s. in addition to the great price you also get a $250 gift card to costco and 20% off kawasaki accessories with the purchase of the bike.

Hmm, $250 buys a lot of beef jerky two-packs. Not to mention our lavish selection of liquors.
I didn't know Costco had deals with motorcycles. I know about our auto program (and like 16 other services), but this is news to me.
