I have just over 600 miles on my new Ninja 300, and I've been up to Mulholland 3 times already. The first time you get on the Snake, it's definitely intimidating, because it's so twisty and you don't know where it's going, but there are speed limit signs on every corner, so even though you don't know where the road is going, you know how sharp it's going to be by the suggested speed. If you have riders come up behind you (and you will) just pull to the right of the lane and wave them by. Also most of the wrecks you see on YouTube are at a hair pin at the top of the Snake, and the actual speed limit is 15 mph for that corner, and some people go over twice that speed, so......
