Tell me about the world famous Mullholand Dr. Malibu

I have lived in Los Angeles all my life but i have never been to malibu. Ive been reading and looking at a ton of videos on mullholand dr so i am now enticed.

That being said, most of the videos ive seen are people crashing their bikes on those twisty curves (the snake i think they call it).

i would love to drive that route but im only 1000 miles experience on my ninja 250. but damn i do want to do it badly since its so world famous and supposedly so fun.

bottom line, i want to experience it but i dont want to be one of youtube's "another biker bites the dust on mullholand dr" videos. so many out there. theres always people hiding and recording with their camera out there lol.

Dont ride it, too many stupid people, too many cops and too much sand

I live in LA too and was looking for places to ride as well. I saw the Mullholand dr. videos too. I suggest you try other mountain roads closer first. I've ridden a few and although they are fun, sometimes it scares the shit out of me... Especially tight turns where the road is very thin with blind corners and seeing sand patches here and there. Try Chantry Lake(i think thats what its called), its the first one i went on and its pretty easy. Then Angeles crest & Glendale Mountain road. I don't have much experience but that's just my advice.

I also heard people purposely oiling the road to get good footage...

I wouldn't say that they are hiding... You're new, don't go there, you will only get in the way and annoy the good riders. Get some experience first.

Would you like to hear what hundreds of people that crashed on the snake said before going there??

"I can handle this"

Get a go pro, we all like to see a newb bite it.

yeah i heard/read about that too. funny thing is its always on that same corner where that big rock is where people skid out. i think mullholanders want to keep us new guys out of there, not because were dangerous. but because they want mullholand all to themselves.

So you need positive motivation for something you are sure you are ready for? middle of the week would lend you the least amount of traffic as the road is a tourist attraction and this is the middle of tourist season. Hope you aren't easily distracted.

07 ZX6R I ride a NINJA, FUCK WHAT YOU THINK!

Supercheese88- You can't find anyone that wants to get in on a sibling 3 way? Weird.

have you been to palos verdes/rolling hills? theres PLENTY of curves/hills etc. there and cars/stuff to watch out for nevermind skidding out and falling over a rail, except if i fall over a rail there, ill drop over 100 feet and die.

since i got palos verdes/rolling hills down to a tee, i think i can handle mullholand.

if anyones been to palos verdes/rolling hills AND mullholand i would love your input.
