I lane split my ass off today. this accident happened at 12pm. I got on the freeway 2 miles from the big rig spill, at 3:45pm. parking lot.

Pleasanton: Lanes reopen on southbound I-680 after big rig overturned - Inside Bay Area

Had to lane split for 4 miles to the interchange to 580, which much to my disgust was also a parking lot. so I went straight on 680 and took crow canyon home.
as a rule for me, I only lane split if traffic is less than 10mph. not often for me.

today, I was on my cbr 1000rr, and I was going b/t 15-20, while traffic stood still (slight roll at times), it was hard for the big bike to go that slow. I did have to slow down for tighter spots and other idiots...

I split all the time, often at high speeds on the freeway (not for the inexperienced), but riding on the sidewalk is a no-no. Too much chance of injuring a pedestrian or getting a serious fine. If firetrucks have blocked off the street there's a very good chance that there are cops around to hand out that fine.

Does your school teach you to use capital letters to start sentences?

Let me clarify - hard for ME to maintain a speed under 15 mph. ergos are great on my cbr 1000rr, much more comfy than the zx6r 09.

LOL... That article says that all lanes were reopened at "6:36" PM.

You say that, but until you hit traffic that is stop 'n go, or crawling at 10 mph on the freeway...
