I might pick one up for next season and if I do, it would be the black. White is pretty basic and the silver is like the Hero 2, but the 120fps on the black is pretty damn good.

That's always been my biggest bitch about the go pro, is how cumbersome it is to turn on and get in the right mode. Sucks going out and getting 15 minutes of pictures. That and mine started turning itself off last year.

i'd buy the black if i was shelling the money for one of these. 60fps @ 720 looks awesome already, the 120 @720 and 30 @ 1080 must be better than real life.

the control is also appealing

Mine does it regardless of battery charge and memory cards. It is an original one, so maybe that has something to do with it, I borrowed a Hero 2 earlier this year and it worked great up until it fell off the back of my bike. They found most of it in turn one, lol.
