Since it's a cheapo KBC helmet, safe for a better one if you ride more than just once a week.

I'd feel bad putting that lid even on a passenger.

In the little booklet that comes with the helmet it clearly states that dropping a helmet will not damage it.

The only time you need to replace it, is if it hit the ground with your head in it, or if its 3 years of age.

I have the I-Ball version of that helmet and I love it. It's light, fits snug, chin skirt doesn't flap and doesn't whistle at speed.

Why spend $500 when a $150 will protect you just as well? It's personal preference.

Dropped my first helmet off the tank at least 20 times before I learned not put it there... Still wore it till it got stinky beyond repair.

Then dropped a then brand spanking new AGV TiTech from the top of my car at around 20mph (you know the drill... put helmet on top the of the car, get keys, get in the car, completely forget about the helmet till there's a bend on the road) it cracked the paint job. I kept the helmet but never had the balls to wear it again... I only ride track and I need to feel 100% safe out there or it's just not fun.

Fuck, I have the vr1x chicdot. Sweet looking helmet, but I bought it because the sales guy said KBC comes out of the same factory as Bell.

I ride everyday to work and back. Though since it has been a little cold lately I ride less and use the car.
