Looks ? How they run ? How they re sell ? Seems like there's more of those on Craigslist and probably have a better chance of someone reply to those than the "08 , or "09 etc . I don't know where else to look.

I had a 01 250 (same thing as 07) there good bikes. bought it for 1400 sold it for the same and only but a battery in it. it might be harder to sell a 07 vs 08 price depending of course. a slightly older bike (2000ish) you could buy cheap and sell cheap.
just watch the pricing in your area and how fast they sell. buy cheap

Good beginner bike but dull, bland and the style isn't with the times.

If you care more about learning how to ride and learning how to on the cheap, get one of them.

If you care more about looks, spend a little more and go for an 08+ 250r.

Reliable, good-looking, easy on the wallet. The thing that really stands out about these bikes is how well they retain resale value.

who gives a fuck about style. they handle like they're on rails. you almost have to TRY to crash one. so many people get bored with one early on.. if they'd learn how to actually ride the thing, they'd never get rid of it.
i race a VTR250 honda and slap the shit out of people on the track. $60K ducatis and such. on a 22 year old bike with 35 HP. small bikes FTW.

Ya i want to get a 07 or earlier for track. Don't want to take anything over a 250 to the track, since i have never been.

Ugly and dated, but they get the job done. However, turn it into a street fighter and it'll look sick; there are a few out there that are pretty bad-ass. One thing to note: performance is actually slightly better than the 08+. They weigh less than the newer generation.

If it was me and I was going to keep the bike for a few years, I would go with an 08+ simply for the looks.
