We have all be in this situation before. It's Christmas day and you open up the presents, and instead of getting what you really wanted.... you get a nice shirt, or pair of socks. Stuff you don't need or want.
Having experienced this enough, what's your best solution to NOT have this happen this year ?

Buy the shit you want yourself, tell others they can give you $$$ towards it in lieu of a gift. Best way to go with things that are more personal in nature. Say you need a new helmet or gloves, etc. You gotta make sure they will work for you. I've done the 'here is a link to the EXACT part i want for my bike' yet it's still fucked up in ordering somehow. I don't even bother anymore with certain types of gifts, I just get them myself.
Just man up and buy it for yourself if you don't get it, We all should be grateful for what people do get us..
But for those that are all about what someone should give them, i say return all the other shit you received and buy what you want, and be sure to post on Facebook that you did it.
Hardracing, maybe you can make my christmas and see if you can get me a RCS brembo MANUAL clutch cable perch/lever.. Was told not currently imported in the US and would be about 2 months before i can get one here.

We would... If Brembo actually made one.
Unfortunately, they don't make one.
That's a Knock off made by Harris in the U.K.
It's not an actual Brembo Part.
Sorry man.

Yeah got some insight on the brembo vs harris on this clutch perch/lever.
Brembo is the maker of them, BUT Harris is allowed to make the perch per brembo's spec then use the brembo lever and sell them as brembo's...
Either way have one coming in (my christmas gift..ok one of them)
I don't ask for gifts that are motorcycle related, they are all too damn expensive. hell i can't buy anything that i need under $100 so i don't ask, dinner & family time is a good enough present for me.
Ski Wax ($10)
Ski Wax Iron ($60)
Sharpening tools ($60)
Really good chef's knife ($120)
Underwear
I've specifically requested to not get socks because I've found a brand I like and they're too expensive (for the amount you get) to ask someone else to buy them.
That being said, if I don't get any of that I'll still be happy because I get to see my and the GF's family open the presents that we got for them. And there's always good food. It's not what you get (imo) it's what you give, and I care more that someone put the thought into getting me anything than getting the latest and greatest toy that I wouldn't spend the money on for myself right now.
That being said, there are all kinds of things that I would like to get and would be very happy about getting. They don't fit into my current budget, so how can I expect someone to blow a wad of cash on it for me?

I always tell everyone that I don't need anything for Christmas. Not a present kind of person. I hate how everybody gets to greedy and forget the true meanings of the holiday
